What is it to be truly kind? How do you know from what place this supposed kindness comes from? Is it ego-driven –  to feel good about yourself doing good deeds for others or to be \u201cright\u201d? Is it truly kind to the receiver, or is it robbing them of a needed opportunity for growth? And who am I to make that sort of distinction? Of course, it all depends on the circumstances. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The quote by Anne Isabella Thackeray Ritchie comes to mind: \u201cGive a man a fish and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime\u201d. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
